I bought a new iPhone and it was used instead!!!!!
Summary: vittoriagattogatto complains about having bought an iPhone they thought was new, but that turned out to be used. marioelegio joins the discussion, but no details or resolution are included in the responses.
Good morning everyone, 8 months ago I bought a "NEW" iPhone and instead when I decided to call support about a problem, I found out it was used and that the screen had even been replaced! The seller no longer responds to my messages, but what shocks me is seeing that eBay does absolutely nothing to protect its customers .... it cannot allow this kind of behavior because where I come from that is called FRAUD! Any other platform would not allow behavior like this. I understand that the platform makes a lot of money from the commissions coming from these Chinese giants, but this is plain and simple fraud.
Does anyone know how I can move forward? Thanks

Mentore7 months agoOn ebay and Paypal you have 30 days from delivery to request a return and refund because the item does not match what was stated in the listing. The timeframe is absolutely the same as almost all other platforms.
Under ebay's procedure, return shipping costs are entirely the seller's responsibility.
After 30 days you have to go straight through legal channels.

OP7 months agoHello,
thank you for your response. But that's not the issue. The serious thing is that ebay allows sellers to scam people, because passing off an item as new when it is not is called fraud. Noticing these problems in the first 30 days may not happen. The fact remains that the seller scams people.
Thanks anyway for your interest.
bye

Mentore7 months agoIf 30 days with the phone in your hand weren’t enough for you, how do you think eBay can do it based on a description and a few photos?
For these things, if you believe you were scammed, file a report.
If you paid with a credit card, the report should let you do a chargeback and get your money back.
