Dear eBay user (in Italy or elsewhere). I ordered something for 120€ from England via eBay.it 1,5 month ago, but the product never arrived. The hopeless eBay logistics services (partners) gave me 3,5 different information on where the parcel was (will be delivered in 7 days, has been delivered * 2, sent back to the seller). I called the last logistics company (PosteItaliane), and they said that the parcel was on it's way back to the seller, so they couldn't do anything. I contacted the seller, and their representative said that I should report it missing, and I did. Nothing happened, but then I saw that eBay had marked that they it was delivered ant that the file was closed. The seller answer was: "Hi there. Many thanks for your reply. Yes I thought that eBay had closed the case. Unfortunately there is little we can do. We cannot refund as we have done nothing wrong on this occasion. If it was our own courier and they hadn’t delivered then of course we would be responsible. You have chosen eBays Global Shipping centre and that is nothing to do with us. We delivered to them as instructed. The dispute here is with eBay and yourself. You will have to take it further with them I am afraid." One can say that I, who have lived in the south of Europe for a long while, should have known that to order something from abroad via eBay is a big risk. Also that it's the client responsibility to fight for it's rights, deliveries etc and spend a lot of time to keep the system roling. Anyway, that's not enough to conclude that it's my fault that eBay doesn't have control over their logisitics. I have called the eBay customer service in Italy, and the guy I spoke to was nice, but the conclusion is that eBay has no responsibility for the logistics and delivery of products order via them. I got another phone number to call (SDA - partner of PosteItaliane), but they could only put me in contact with Italian speaking people. Can somebody please tell me what I can do? Is the only solution to accept the loss, and to help to spread the message that one should never buy things via eBay - at least not in Italy and products from abroad..? Kind regards T
